Children’s Sunday School
“6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
The proper instruction of God’s children is a responsibility that we take seriously at Mountain View Church and it all begins with safety. We are proud to have a Plan-To-Protect in place as a guide to proper procedures to keep the children safe. The Pastor and all the Sunday School teachers have up-to-date police checks to ensure we are doing all we can to keep the children safe. The other important aspect of Sunday School is the choice of curriculum. At Mountain View Church we have chosen the very reputable Answers In Genesis curriculum which has the intent of taking you child through every book of the Bible over the course of three years. Each class has age-appropriate lessons and questions. You can check it out here: https://answersingenesis.org/about/
When your children are dismissed from the main service, they will be escorted downstairs to our multi-media-equipped Sunday School classroom. After being greeted by our friendly volunteer and attendance being recorded, the class begins with an opening prayer followed by an introduction to the theme for that morning’s lesson.
Next, the class is encouraged to sing along to a music video which has been professionally produced with the intent of assisting the memorization of the featured Scripture verse.
After the song, the main lesson is presented to the children using an interactive PowerPoint lesson. After the main lesson has been taught a story is told or a game is played to reinforce the lesson. When time is up, a closing prayer is offered and then the class is dismissed so they can join their parents for treats and fellowship time.
