Paul and Marilyn just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2023. They were never blessed with children, but they have been active in the lives of nephews and their niece over the years.
Paul and Marilyn have lived in the Didsbury area, so far, for a total of 17 years in two stints, with a ten-year gap spent in the Cardston area. They have lived both in town and on acreages east of Didsbury.
Both Paul and Marilyn came to know Christ later in life at a small Baptist church plant while living in Cardston. Christ is doing amazing work in their lives, and they love to tell their conversion story to those who ask. They both became founding members of that church when it officially registered with the Government of Alberta.
Previously in other churches, Marilyn has served as Chair of the Missions & Evangelism Committee, planner for outreach events, church library, evangelism outreach, and co-led a college-age Bible Study with Paul.
Marilyn has a heart for women’s ministry, and she currently leads a women’s Bible study at MVEMC, (check the calendar for dates and times). She also serves in the Sunday School ministry at MVEMC.
Pastor Paul Vickers is a Licensed Minister with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. He received his training at Canadian Baptist Theological College in Cochrane, Alberta, and ACTS Seminary located at Western Trinity University.
At previous churches, Paul has served as an Elder on the Board, in the library, organizer of outreach events, participated in evangelism outreach, led a college-age Bible Study, was an accredited preacher in the Associated Gospel Church denomination, and has acted as pulpit-supply and preached in several churches across five different denominations.
At MVEMC, Pastor Paul will be found almost every Sunday preaching exegetically from the Bible in a verse-by-verse manner from a historical-cultural perspective. Paul also has a heart for men’s ministry and currently leads “The Armory”, a men’s Bible study that meets every second Wednesday at MVEMC in the Fellowship Hall, (check the calendar for days and times).
